# Whole-Home Remodel, Part 1: The Kitchen in McKinney, TX

> Case study: the kitchen, part one of a whole-home remodel in McKinney, TX, with new cabinets, flooring, backsplash, countertops, and a flooring surprise.

The first stop in a whole-house remodel in McKinney: a kitchen with new cabinets, flooring, backsplash, and countertops, plus an unexpected flooring discovery.

## The Situation

A homeowner in [McKinney](https://concordroofingtx.com/mckinney-tx/) was ready for a completely new look throughout the entire house, and Concord Roofing & Construction was ready to tackle the job. Once the designs were done and approved, the work began. Today we are taking a look at the kitchen.

## The Scope of Work

All the floor-standing cabinets and flooring had to come out. This led to an interesting discovery: three different types of flooring all in one section. Some repair and leveling was necessary before proceeding, but unexpected surprises like this are always part of the job, and Concord has the experience to tackle them smoothly.

Once we got the [flooring](https://concordroofingtx.com/flooring/) and [cabinets](https://concordroofingtx.com/kitchen-remodeling/custom-cabinets/) in, it was time to put in the [backsplash](https://concordroofingtx.com/kitchen-remodeling/backsplashes/) and install the [countertops](https://concordroofingtx.com/kitchen-remodeling/countertops/).

Paint, stain, and protective coatings pulled everything together to make this kitchen beautiful.

## The Result

This is just the first part of a larger project we will walk through. And even the dog gave Concord a satisfactory lay down of approval upon seeing the new kitchen.
