Modern Kitchen Remodel in McKinney, TX

A dated kitchen rebuilt around a designer’s plan, with new painted cabinets, countertops, a backsplash, flooring, matching appliances, and a more open layout toward the dining room.

The Situation

A homeowner in McKinney had a kitchen that was ready for a new, modern look. They worked with designer Jo Gifford Designs to come up with a plan, and once all the details were set, Concord Roofing & Construction was brought in to make the design come to life.

The Scope of Work

  • Concord put up protective barriers to keep the rest of the home clean while we worked in the kitchen, then removed the old appliances, countertops, cabinets, and flooring.
  • Once that was complete, we addressed any wall imperfections that would show up later in the paint, then installed the new cabinets.
  • After the new cabinets were installed, we painted them in place so none of the finish would get damaged later in the build.
  • With the paint complete, we installed the new countertops, backsplash, and kitchen sink.
  • Now that the cabinets and countertops were complete, we installed the new flooring and finished painting the walls.
  • Then, finally, the new matching appliances and lighting went in to complete the work.

The Result

This homeowner now has a modernized kitchen with matching appliances all the way around. With the oven, cooktop, microwave, and vent hood now together in one section, the cabinets no longer extend as far toward the dining room, which opens up the space. Cabinet storage got an upgrade too, with a new row of glass-front cabinets along the top. And the new flooring ties the space together instead of catching your eye the way the old tile pattern did.
